OverviewGIGAALASER combines two parallel working wavelengths of 980nm and 1470nm to produce the HPLASⅡ for urology. HPLASⅡ operates dual wavelengths (980nm and 1470nm) running in parallel with a maximum output up to 200W, achieving optimized absorption in water and hemoglobin which allows a high ablation rate together with good hemostatic (blood-staunching) effect. The dual laser design can spare internal structures related to ejaculation, aiming to reduce the risk of retrograde ejaculation in selected patients. The excellent hemostatic profile minimizes blood loss during and after the procedure and supports improved healing and symptomatic relief for patients with BPH.

Principle of treatmentThe treatment is performed by inserting a cystoscope containing the new BPH probe through the urethra. The head of the bare fiber is extended from the probe and the dual laser (980nm + 1470nm) is emitted from the probe head. The operator steers and rotates the probe to ablate tissue in a circular motion, progressively enlarging the funnel; the probe is withdrawn at the end of ablation to restore normal urine flow.
