OverviewThe Nordlys® platform is a multi-application IPL and laser system for dermatologic and aesthetic treatments. It integrates Selective Waveband Technology (SWT®) narrowband IPL with two non-ablative fractional lasers (1550 nm and 1940 nm) and an Nd:YAG 1064 nm laser to treat pigmentation, vascular lesions, skin resurfacing, and hair removal. The Nordlys Mini is a stand-alone non-ablative fractional laser device with the same 1550 nm and 1940 nm lasers for minimally invasive resurfacing and benign pigmented lesions.
Key Technologies- SWT® (Selective Waveband Technology) narrowband IPL
- 1550 nm non-ablative fractional laser (deep resurfacing)
- 1940 nm non-ablative fractional laser (epidermal resurfacing and benign pigmented lesions)
- Nd:YAG 1064 nm laser (vascular lesions, leg veins, port wine stains, onychomycosis, warts)
Why choose Nordlys- Multi-application platform expands practice offerings (pigment, vascular, resurfacing, hair removal)
- Applicable across Fitzpatrick Skin Types I–VI depending on applicator selection
- High ROI non-ablative fractional resurfacing with low downtime
- Customizable treatments with purchasable handpieces to extend capabilities over time
- Pre-set dermatologic and aesthetic treatment protocols developed from long-term clinical use
Technology Details- SWT® IPL: dual light filters and sub-millisecond pulses; narrowband filtering removes harmful wavelengths above 950 nm for safer vascular and pigment treatments and hair removal
- 1550 nm: non-ablative fractional for deeper dermal remodeling; used for acne scars, surgical scars, striae, and textural irregularities; available on Nordlys and Nordlys Mini
- 1940 nm: epidermal fractional resurfacing for shallow resurfacing and benign pigmented lesions (reaches epidermis and superficial dermis, up to ~200 µm); available on Nordlys and Nordlys Mini
- Nd:YAG 1064 nm: treats leg vessels (0.1–3 mm), facial telangiectasias, venous lakes, port wine stains, benign cutaneous lesions (warts), and onychomycosis

- Actinic keratosis (listed in certain clearances)
Nd:YAG 1064- Leg vessels
- Benign vascular lesions
- Port wine stains
- Venous lakes
- Onychomycosis (clear nail)
- Warts and other benign cutaneous lesions

How it works- Targeted light pulses deliver energy absorbed by chromophores: melanin (hair removal), hemoglobin (vascular lesions), or water/other chromophores (resurfacing)
- Absorbed light converts to heat to coagulate or ablate target structures while sparing surrounding tissue via fractional delivery and narrowband filtering
Clinical & Practice Benefits- Broad treatment portfolio supports expanding practice services and patient base
- Non-ablative options enable faster recovery and multiple treatment indications with shared platform investment
- Modular handpieces allow phased investment in additional treatment capabilities
